In this article I will present and critically discuss the ethical and social aspects of in-vitro meat (also called lab-meat, cultured meat, or clean meat). I will focus on the animal ethics issues and on the potential of this innovation to change human-animal relationships. The results of this analysis have been developed partly during the project „Visions of in vitro meat. Analysis of the technical and social aspects and visions of in vitro meat (VIF)“ (2015–2017), funded by the German Ministry of Research and Education (BMBF).
